Don’t you love finding cool stuff on sale? I definitely do! I was in Urban Outfitters just browsing when I came across this awesome blue scarf for an equally awesome price. I’d recently gone to the SS15 launch event for Coach, and this reminded me of the pastel colored furs that make up the major pieces of the collection. I’ve had this denim Tommy Hilfiger jacket for years now. So, to spice it up, I added the scarf underneath. It made my jacket look as though it had an interesting fur trim, giving a new look to one of my go-to pieces.

This winter has been the perfect time for me to stock up on some colorful jackets and coats. Since my closet consists of mostly neutrals, it’s great to have a piece that can stand out. One of the things that I really appreciate about this jacket and sweater combo from Zara is that there are a lot of small details that work well when combined.

It’s funny, I didn’t even realize my sweater had pockets until I took this photo. The white on white zig-zag patch is what caught my attention. However, being able to slip my hands in the side was the icing on the cake. The extra snaps, zippers and clasps on the jacket also keep the eye in search of other small surprises.

NYC weather is ridiculously cold at the moment! I’m sure everyone was happy for the long weekend, but this weather kills. However, one positive about these nearly negative temps is the ability to layer without burning up; which is why I was very excited to find this Marc Jacobs faux fur varsity jacket to add some additional warmth under my true coat.

The big metallics around the neckline display the signature symbols and make the need for additional accessories minimal–which I don’t tend to wear too much of anyway. I just wore my favorite Michael Kors gold bracelet and I was good to go. I really, really hate the cold. But good clothes can help put anyone in better spirits.
