This past week my sister (Erica) was in town, which means I ran around the city a lot more than I normally would–or perhaps I should say “ubered” around the city. It’s always nice when someone comes to visit because you force yourself to go to areas that may not be a part of your regular routine.

Each time I visit the Upper West Side it’s refreshing. The greenery and neighborhood feel is different than the huge corporate buildings that surround me downtown. However, as much as I enjoy this area, I don’t come very often.

I thought it’d be cool to stroll around with my sister over the weekend. I wore these amazingly comfortable jeans from Target that have become one of my favorites. Looking to switch things up from my normal darks, I wore this light-weight top from New York and Company featuring some bold, bright print.

During our time we had absolutely no agenda–just free roaming. This lead us to an amazing Italian lunch, some wandering in the flower shop and a trial of chocolate chip cookies from Levain bakery. Speaking of which, I was kind of underwhelmed when I finally got to the bakery. With all of the Yelp and Instagram praise, maybe I had hyped it up in my head too much. Is it really worth the buzz?

Nonetheless, our mini-adventures were great! A year in this city and I realize I’m nowhere near being done exploring…

“Good things come to those who wait”–such a perfect statement for this outfit! I debated getting this two-piece set months ago. Finally, I went into Express again to look for it and to my surprise I was able to snag it for 70% off the original price (it’s as though the purchase was meant to be).

During the winter and colder days one of my favorite things to wear was my BCBG leather jacket; however, the weather has been way too hot for all that lately. So, I was really glad when I could find this faux leather vest from H&M to throw on top of things. It automatically adds some edge to any outfit.

Whether it be dinner in Soho, or out for the night in Meatpacking, these three easy pieces make for a bundle of options appropriate for numerous occasions.

This spring/summer I’ve done quite a bit of shopping. Therefore, I thought it’d be cool to see how I could remix some of the old pieces in my closet to create fresh looks. Doing this shows you just how much your personal style has changed over time.

One of my favorite tops in college was this ASOS shirt. I remember it was the first thing I ever ordered from the online shop, and I wore it all the time. What I love about ASOS is that there is such a large price range as well as size range to fit any need.

Usually I’d match this shirt with a longer cami underneath and a pair of jeans. Fast-forward to years later, and I thought this comfy top would look great with a fitted skirt, black booties and my favorite hat.

It’s just Monday, which means you have six more days this week to look fab! Ramble through the back of your closet to see if there’s anything you get excited about again!
